Information on the data transfer to third-party countries that are not secure under data protection law and the transfer to US companies that are not DPF-certified

We use, among other technologies, tools from companies located in third-party countries that are not safe under data protection law, as well as US tools whose providers are not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). If these tools are enabled, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in these countries. We have executed a contract data processing agreement with Google and are implementing the stringent provisions of the German data protection agencies to the fullest when using Google Analytics.

6. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or only on a voluntary basis. For the handling of the newsletter, we use newsletter service providers, which are described below.

MailPoet (local installation)

This website uses MailPoet to send out newsletters. The provider is Aut O’Mattic A8C Ireland Ltd., Business Centre, No.1 Lower Mayor Street, International Financial Services Centre, Dublin 1, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as MailPoet).

MailPoet is a service used, among other things, to be able to organize and analyze the sending of newsletters. We have integrated MailPoet locally on our servers. The data you enter for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be processed on our servers. MailPoet does not have access to these data.

Analysis of Data by MailPoet

MailPoet enables us to analyze our newsletter campaigns. Hence, we can, for instance, determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links the user clicked on. Among other things, this allows us to establish which users click on with great frequency.

Moreover, we can determine whether certain previously defined actions can be executed after opening / clicking on the link (conversion rate). For instance, this allows us to see whether you have made a purchase after clicking on the newsletter.

MailPoet also puts us in a position to allocate our newsletter recipients to specific categories (clustering). In conjunction with this we can, for example, divide newsletter recipients based on age, gender, or place of residence. As a result, we can align our newsletters more effectively with the relevant target groups. If you do not want to participate in the MailPoet analysis, you will have to unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a pertinent link to do this in every newsletter.

Legal Basis

Your data will be processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR). You may revoke this consent at any time with future effectiveness.

Retention Period

The data we archive for the purpose of newsletter subscriptions will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Once you have unsubscribed from the newsletter, or once the purpose of its use no longer exists, the data will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list. We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses in our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. This will not affect data we store for other purposes.

Once you have unsubscribed from the newsletter distribution list, your email mail be stored in a blacklist, if such action is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data in this blacklist will be used exclusively for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. 7. Plug-ins and Tools

YouTube with expanded data protection integration

This website integrates videos from the YouTube website. The operator of the website is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

When you visit one of these websites on which YouTube is integrated, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

We use YouTube in extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, videos that are played in extended data protection mode are not used to personalize browsing on YouTube.
